Screenwriter and Director René Gallo was born in 1986 in Rijeka. He currently lives and works in Zagreb. His first short film, Maleni, premiered at the Mediterranean Film Festival Split and was supported by the City of Rijeka. He spent most of his film career working as an assistant director on advertising and film projects, including: Murina, directed by Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović, Kazneni udrac, directed by Rok Biček and Tutto il mio folle amore, directed by Gabriele Salvatores. He graduated from the Palunko screenwriting school in 2017 and participated in the Sarajevo Talents workshop in 2022 with the short film Pramenka. He continues with the workshops in 2023 and participates in the NEM script workshop for TV. In 2023, he works on the drama series Gora as one of the screenwriters. With Antitalent prod., he begins production of the 3rd season of “Slatke kuharice” as the director. Won the award for the best series screenplay at NEM Zagreb 2023 for his project "Mirakulisti", which he developed at Midpoint institute series launch in 2024. Currently developing several feature and documentary applications for HAVC and HRT.
